Career prospects

Where do our graduates work?

The Coaching & Vitality in Organisations Master’s track prepares students for a career as an occupational and organisational psychologist or an occupational and health psychologist. The track also provides a sound basis for various other positions, such as:

  • (Self-employed) Coach
  • Trainer
  • Career counsellor
  • Occupational health consultant
  • Learning & development consultant
  • Reemployment and outplacement counselor
  • Researcher on issues such as: vitality, healthy working conditions, and effective coaching techniques

After completing the Master's degree, our alumni become self-employment or find employment with organisations such as:

  • Government, municipalities, and semi-public institutions
  • Educational institutions, such as colleges universities
  • Psychological consultancy firms
  • National and international companies in the professional services sector
  • Training agencies
  • Research institutes
  • Occupational health services

A&O Nip registration, A&G NIP registration and BAPD certificate

This track prepares students who also have a Bachelor’s degree in psychology for A&O NIP registration and A&G NIP registration. For students who also have a Bachelor’s degree in psychology it is also possible to obtain the BAPD certificate (NIP) provided that the HRM and Psychological Assessment course is chosen as an elective. 

Career coaching during your Master’s

You can make use of a wide variety of career tools and support from the UvA Student Careers Centre (SCC) during your studies. The SCC organises career events, workshops, training courses, as well as CV checks, interview practice sessions and much more. 

Career events

The UvA Student Careers Centre organises several events for Bachelor's and Master's students from all disciplines. They include workshops, labour market trends, inspiring speakers, CV check, contact with employers, having a professional LinkedIn photo taken and best practises for applying to jobs.
